maiCashmere is the creation of Suzan Azuma, known for her innate eye for design, craftsmanship and innovative use of color. The maiCashmere collection is available in a kaleidoscopic range of shades.

The word mai (pronounced MY-EE) means many things in several languages. In Japanese, it means ‘innovation’ and is also a celebratory dance welcoming new life or thanksgiving harvest; in Thai ‘paradise’; in Chinese, ‘a young woman.’ Finally in French, mai translates to ‘May,’ conveying a sense of spring. All of these translations can be felt in maiCashmeres’ lightness, femininity and nature-inspired palette. (The pink and green found in every collection represent spring-like blooms.)

The maiCashmere journey began in 1998 with a singular West-meets-East concept: Suzan introduced the cashmere maiTee, in which she re-imagined the iconic American T-shirt – carefully selected and produced it in the finest quality white goat, Erpasu cashmere yarns; a diligent process she has used since maiCashmere’s very beginning. By fusing these themes, Suzan captured the youthful spirit of the plain tee but reinvented it for a more sophisticated woman.

maiCashmere currently includes stylish separates, dresses and accessories for the body and the home. There is also a bestselling range of scarves in a variety of weights, colors and styles, allowing customers to always wear their maiCashmere no matter what the occasion.
